Let me introduce you to my brand 'BLUBZ!'...
A brief history of BLUBZ!
Blubz were created almost by accident. Being an artist can be frustrating at times, especially when you spend hours working on a picture you think looks amazing only to end up with very little engagement on social media. One evening, whilst thinking about this, I decided to conduct a little doodle experiment with these images here that took me no time at all… I posted them on Instagram, and I was surprised to see it was getting more genuine responses than anything else I’d posted before. So what was it about these simple little blobs that people were attracted to?
It was the combination of simplicity, cuteness, and fun that gave them their universal appeal.
It was a bit of a lightbulb moment for me, so I decided to develop them in to the bright colourful brand you see here today.
I believe that the Blubz USP is simplicity. They are eye catching...
Endearing... and they don’t fall in to any stereotypes...
A pink Blub isn't necessarily a female Blub!
They have the ability to express AND evoke emotion through colour.
Yellow Blub + Blue Blub = Green Blub!
To be educational – for example, teaching children about colour theory. This can also incorporate a mathematical element, with percentages for instance. X % of this colour + X % of that colour = Y colour
Sharing is caring!
Blubz can teach children about kindness and sharing...
He ain't heavy, he's my brother!
Blubz can teach children about friendship and inclusiveness...
But most of all...
Blubz can teach children about having lots of fun!
As a brand, Blubz has many potential directions for its use. From decorative purposes, simply decorating products with colourful licensed patterns or images (greetings cards, mugs, clothes, toys etc.) to animation and computer games… …but my vision for Blubz is that they could be used for a real positive purpose, such as art education as I previously mentioned.
...that could be on food, soft drinks, and confectionary packaging, with games and quizzes on the back...
...or board games and puzzles, and educational books. There are lots of potential avenues to explore as the brand develops.
